what we do...

with a general focus on electronic music, and a love of varying music styles, deuce prides itself on inviting to the stage a range of musicians, instruments, themes, talents, back drops, costumes, visuals (and the list goes on), and sharing spaces with fine artists, fashion students, graphic designers, and other corners of the industry that falls under the umbrella of "art".

deuce is a local promotion company focussed on unleashing live, local artists in perth, and providing a forum for local artists and musicians to perform, meet (and potentially collaborate), have fun and get outta the jam space they have in their lounge room, bedroom, garage, etc ...

today jay scroop (turbine 37), james ward (james DXU) and jen craig keep the deuce legacy alive through readily accessible (ie FREE) gigs at the legendary velvet lounge in mount lawley (behind the flying scotsman).

our next gig

The deuce christmas party this year is a triple barreled excuse for an awesome party:

1. we wrap up another fine year of live electronic music, visuals and fashion down at the velvet lounge

2. we congratulate the graduation of the Central Institute of Technology (formally Central tafe) 3rd year Fashion Design students, who have been portaying their unique designs fir us all year

3. we get our christmas on!!

The LIVE electronic music for the night will be brought to you by a couple of dark masters of the broken beat. First up we’ll have DOS4GW dropping his “so phat its juicy” beats, that are sure to tip the room on its side. Followed by TURBINE 37 who will be chopping and churning out the beats and basslines in a manner that’s illegal in most countries. Booty shaking all round!!

DJ SUMO will be hosting the night with his breaks to hip hop dj stylez followed by a mad dubstep set by SKAHNA & SKITLEZ to wrap the night up.

The visuals stocking will be stuffed by the mighty digital graffiti artist SHOESANDSOCKS.

We will congratulate fashion designers....

a little bit of history...

established in 2003 by jonathan craig (8ball) and paul bridge (pauly fatlace), and run with jason craig and ro alexander, deuce has achieved legendary local status by putting on some of the most renowned parties around perth, at venues including the bakery, ambar, heat, the rosemount, luxe ampitheatre, and not forgetting those underground parties at the morgue and various other temporary venues.

deuce introduced the reknowned jigsaw program in 2004, encouraging artists to collaborate and gig for the first time in front of non-expecting or mainstream audiences. this widely successful program spawned some of the more well know and popular electronic acts in Perth today. we continue to seek out acts which are a bit left of centre and will cater for the people of perth who appreciate original artists, enjoy something they've never heard before, and aren't scared of soomething a little different.
